While watching the performers in Nashville, you see the grind, you can hear the tune coming straight from their soul and you really feel the music.Most artist in Nashville sing so well that they get the sixty year olds ladies to pull muscles and the old men to cheat on their wives. You know those are artists just trying to make it big. Quite frankly, some should probably replace what's on the radio today… but thats another story.

It's only that select few that experience Nashville while being on stage.That other viewpoint that the typical tourist doesn't get to experience. But what if I were to tell you an amateur drummer and a semi-professional karaoke player played on the third level of the iconic Honky Tonk Central Bar right on Broadway. That's right, this is the story of when Trevor, the CEO of SHITI Coolers and Maverick got to play live at Honkey Tonk Central.

Back in early 2019, the SHITI Coolers Crew took a road trip down to Kentucky for a Deer Hunting Expo. As they got closer, Trevor noticed that Nashville was only two hours away from their hotel. At that point it was a no brainer, the SHITI Coolers Crew started to make their way to Broadway for the night. 

They made their way up and down broadway boozin’, without a care in the world. Getting loaded with drinks, putting tips in the pickle jar, and listening to classic country covers. But it wasn't till eleven o’clock when the SHITI Coolers Crew would have their lives changed forever. As the crew makes their way up tothe third floor in Honky Tonk, the tempo gets cranked up. Suddenly this band isn't just playing Country, they are playing everything! As the night passed by the crowd began to slim down and the band started to open for requests and became a little more lenient than usual. It was at this moment and time when Trevor thought of an idea that would change everything.

Trevor ran across the bar to get Mavericks attention on the balcony and asked if he would go up there and play a song if they'd let them. Maverick wasn't opposed to the idea he just wanted confirmation to know if the band would allow it. Trevor then takes a pitstop to the bar and buys a shot to build his confidence and storms to the stage. Trevor then proposes one of biggest tips the band has ever received. Trevor offered to pay the band $60 to play one song on stage. The band first reaction was along the lines of: “Who the fuck is this guy and if he does play he's probably going to suck ass”.  Trevor knew better than anyone that money talks. So Trevor then offers the Band $100. At this point this isn't a joke anymore. He's entered triple digits. As each band member turned to each other they knew this was an offer they couldn't refuse. The band decides to go through with it.

As Trevor tells Maverick that it's a go. This joke then becomes a reality. As witnesses say, Maverick was on the balcony nervous as hell and smoked his whole pack of cigarettes to steady his nerves. The biggest question was, what song? Based on Mavericks' past, singing karaoke in bars around the Great State of Michigan, Angel by Shaggyis an audience pleaser. They make their way on to the stage. Trevor looked out past the drums at the astonishing nineteen people in the bar. Maverick slowly grabs the mic, takes a deep breath, and the song begins. 

If you have listened toAngel by Shaggy. The drum beat is pretty constant. It was enough for an Amateur Drummer like Trevor to handle. Now Maverick wasn't going to sing the chorus. No, Maverick had to sing Shaggy’s Part. Once Maverick opened his mouth everyone's eyes lit up. They couldn't believe that these annoying drunk fuckers waving $100 around, begging to get on stage could put on a show like this one. As someone that was there I can assure you that as Alan Jackson would say, “It was right on the money”. They killed it! Staying on beat, the band members looked at each other thinking that they probably shouldn't have allowed them on stage because now there wouldn't be enough poon for anyone else. People stood up from out of the chairs and began to dance. Everyone in the bar was in complete shock at the events that were taking place. As the song came to a close the crowd gave the loudest cheer of the night! Hugs were being passed around the bar as if someone won a championship. The lead singer then turns to Trevor and says “That was the greatest moment in my entire career. Thank you for that!” A few more rounds were bought for the gang and the night became endless. A second wind was created that ended up keeping the SHITI Coolers Crew out until 3. A.M. All because of a little ICONIC performance from Trevor and Mav at Honky Tonk Central on Broadway.
